The LCD screen, mounted on the handlebar, offers 5 assistance levels as well as plenty of information such as total/trip distance, speed, battery capacity, etc. It also includes start-up assistance.
It features hydraulic brakes for powerful and progressive braking.
More about range
How many km can I ride with my e-bike? This is the big question we all ask when buying an e-bike – and the answer is complex, as it depends on many factors. The first and main factor for the range of a fully charged battery is the energy stored in it, measured in watt-hours (Wh), calculated by multiplying volts (V) by amp-hours (Ah). For example, a 48V13Ah battery has 624Wh and a 36V16Ah battery has 576Wh. Once the energy concept is clear, we must look at motor power, which determines how quickly this energy is consumed. A bike for legal use in the EU can have a maximum nominal power of 250W, but it doesn’t consume the same when working at its limit on a 20% incline (peak consumption up to 150% of nominal power) as when used calmly on flat ground. Another key factor is rider input: a rider climbing 20% with low assistance and pedaling hard uses less battery than one on flat ground with high assistance making no effort. Other factors include rider weight, position, cadence, number of starts/stops (since starting requires energy peaks), terrain (hills or flat), surface (asphalt or trail), wind (headwind), and tire type/geometry. For all these reasons, it is very difficult to provide precise and reliable range information. The range data we provide is based on a 75kg rider under normal use – mountain bikes in mixed terrain with climbs/descents, city bikes with urban commutes involving frequent stop-and-go, etc. We don’t advertise maximum ranges, but realistic values from actual tests without aiming for unusually low consumption. We have achieved more than 200 km in maximum efficiency tests, but we consider it dishonest to advertise this since it is not normal use. What truly sets Moma e-bikes apart from the competition is precisely the range – 100% of professionals who tested them were impressed. For us, it is the key factor in this type of vehicle, and we work daily to improve it as much as possible with high-capacity batteries and very efficient motors that consume the least energy possible.
The feature that distinguishes a Longtail from other bikes is its rear section. It has an extra-long luggage rack integrated into the frame that can support much more weight than a conventional bicycle. On it you can mount:
- 2 child seats
- 2 cushions, when seats are no longer needed
- 1 seat + 1 cushion
Or you can mount a box, allowing you to use the bike as a transport tool for goods delivery.
In this case, our Compactail also includes a front rack/basket that supports up to 15kg of load.
And if that’s not enough, in the middle of the frame there is a 3-liter bag, perfect for storing items such as a mobile phone, wallet, or even a small backpack.
The child seats shown in the photos are not included.
